Fixie does Manchester!

Just after this shot I promptly dropped my Panasonic Lumix. It did not fair well on the solid concrete, smashing the viewer. It still takes photos but you can’t see what you are taking. I consoled myself by smashing my credit card with a lovely new Canon powershot G10. Yummy.

Liverpool

The other day I ventured off to Liverpool for the day to check it out. It was a grey English day, with predictable rain but I still saw a wee snap shot of the Beatle mania clad city. Hard days night hotel anyone? I start work on Monday, so it was essential to explore further afield.

Albert dock is a popular tourist destination so given I was a tourist that was one of my destinations. It has a few museums, including a Tate, a Beatles museum, a slavery museum, and a maritime museum.

Banky’s book enticed me at a store. It is a collection of well, his collection. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

The locals complain that it rains a lot in Manchester. Clearly they have never been to Auckland. Average rainfall in Manchester = 65mm a month. Average rainfall in Auckland = 100mm…

Finally I found a decent coffee in Manchester. Funnily enough a Kiwi was serving/making it. Nonetheless it is my new local with creama like that! There are a number of cafes in my burb, and I’ve been sampling them all (of course) to find a good coffee. I am sure it is the milk they use, or how they prepare the milk, but it’s just not as good as New Zealand (moan, moan, moan, over).

It was found in the Craft warehouse, where independent crafty shops all gather together with creative goodness.
