Last week we headed South to Cornwall.  This area of England is very different to the rest of the country that I have seen.  It reminds me much of France with rolling green hills, gorgeous clear water and quaint little villages steeped in history.  Cornwall is very Cornwall proud with their own language, though it isn’t spoken by many and has its own traditions.  We stayed in St Ives, a sunny seaside paradise with cobbled streets and ghost stories to add to the colour of the fishing boats.  St Ives has a big fishing and minning history and apparently many Cornish people left to mine in Australia when all the tin ran out in the surrounding hills.  So much so, there are more Cornish surnames in Australia than Cornwall [facts courtesy of the walking tour, every Monday at 11am, £5 for 75mins meet at the Guild hall].

Bumbles tea room is a very cute traditional tea room only a few steps away from a popular beach, Porthmeor.  They served all sorts of teas and even made a superb macchiato.  Tammy, the owner spent a few months in Darjeeling, India last year acquiring more teas and learning more about tea: now that’s passion for tea!
